Restorative yoga
Restorative yoga is often referred to as ‘resting yoga’. You can hold the poses, or asanas, for up to 20 minutes. The poses are well-supported and take the body’s individual needs into account; they effectively replenish your energy and help prevent exhaustion and stress. There is no actual stretching involved, although you may feel a slight sense of opening up. The aim is simply to allow the body to let go, whilst practising calmness and rest.
A 60-minute restorative yoga session comprises a total of 2-3 different asanas, or poses. The poses are carefully structured so that they can also be practised in your daily life using props found at home.
For the Rauha´s yoga sessions, it’s a good idea to wear comfortable, flexible clothing; layering is recommended, and woollen socks are often a good addition. You may also need to bring your own water bottle.
Otherwise , just come as you are – we provide all the yoga equipment you’ll need <3
Around 4–20 people can take part in each session of Rauha´s yoga at our Old School.
